LA Clippers’ Steve Ballmer denies Kawhi Leonard salary-cap circumvention scheme

The Los Angeles Clippers have been accused of a salary-cap circumvention scheme involving Kawhi Leonard and Aspiration, a failed bank. Clippers owner Steve Ballmer has denied any knowledge of the alleged $28 million "no-show" deal between Leonard and Aspiration, and has stated that he would want the NBA to investigate the matter thoroughly if another team were accused of similar wrongdoing. Ballmer claims he was "conned" and insists that he had no involvement in the purported scheme. The Clippers organization has not provided any further comment on the allegations, and the NBA is expected to look into the matter.
