News On Halo's Future Is Coming Very Soon

Microsoft is preparing to make a Halo-related announcement at the upcoming Halo World Championships event in October. The developer, Halo Studios, has confirmed that they will appear on the main stage to discuss their recent work, and there will also be a "deep dive" panel that attendees won't want to miss. While Microsoft did not specify if the announcement will be about new games, the company has already confirmed that it is working on multiple new Halo projects. In 2024, Microsoft revealed the "A New Dawn" trailer, which showcased concepts for new Halo projects in the Unreal Engine, including Project Foundry. Since the release of Halo Infinite in 2021, Microsoft has made significant changes, including installing a new executive leadership team and switching game engines for future projects. The company has acknowledged that Halo Infinite missed the mark in some respects, and it is now working to change its approach to the franchise. There are also reports that Microsoft is exploring the possibility of bringing Halo to other platforms, such as PS5 and Switch 2, and that a new Halo: Combat Evolved remaster project is in the works. Additionally, 2026 marks the 25th anniversary of Xbox and Halo, and Microsoft Gaming boss Phil Spencer has suggested that the company could release a new Halo project next year alongside new Fable and Gears of War games.
