West Ham close in on €20m deal for Monaco midfielder Magassa
West Ham United are close to completing a €20 million deal to sign midfielder Soungoutou Magassa from Monaco. The 21-year-old has been a target for the Premier League club, who are also trying to secure a loan move for Nottingham Forest's Ibrahim Sangaré. Nottingham Forest had also expressed interest in Magassa, but West Ham have made significant progress in negotiations with Monaco. The deal is expected to include a €17 million base fee plus €3 million in add-ons. West Ham manager Graham Potter is under increasing pressure after his team's poor start to the season, and is desperately seeking midfield reinforcements. The acquisition of Magassa and a potential loan move for Sangaré could help address the team's issues in the middle of the park.
