Borderlands 4 Stuttering On PC? Gearbox Has An Unusual Step To Fix Stability Issues

The latest Borderlands 4 patch, released on September 25, addressed stability and performance issues, but some players are still experiencing stuttering problems. Gearbox has advised players that the stuttering is due to shader compilation occurring in the background during gameplay, and it should clear up after 15 minutes of continuous play. If the issue persists, the developer recommends clearing the shader cache. The technical issues with Borderlands 4 have prompted Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford to address the community, though he has since shifted his focus to the upcoming Now You See Me movie sequel, which he contributed to. The September 25 patch also added an FOV slider on console and made some balance changes to Vault Hunters, with more updates planned for next week. Additionally, the Borderlands 4 Switch 2 edition has been delayed indefinitely, and all digital preorders are being refunded. Gearbox cited the need for more polish and support for cross-saves as the reasons for the delay.
