NRL player Brandon Smith hit with drug supply and betting charges
NRL player Brandon Smith has been charged with drug supply and using inside knowledge for betting. The 29-year-old South Sydney hooker was issued a summons by Queensland Police and is set to appear in court on September 18. The charges come after Smith was questioned by police when he arrived in Queensland for a match against the Gold Coast Titans on August 10, but was released without charge at the time. The NRL is aware of the situation and is working with the relevant authorities as the case progresses.
