Son Heung-min makes instant impact in LAFC debut and hails MLS welcome

Son Heung-min, the South Korean star, made his MLS debut for Los Angeles FC (LAFC) on Saturday in a 2-2 draw against the Fire in Chicago. Coming on as a substitute in the second half, Son's impact was immediate, as he won a penalty in the 77th minute that Denis Bouanga converted to secure the draw for LAFC. The penalty decision was confirmed by VAR after the referee initially let play continue. Son, who joined LAFC in a record transfer earlier this week, expressed his satisfaction with the warm welcome he received from the MLS and praised the league's high level of play.
