Amazon Music launches AI-powered weekly playlists based on 'preferences and mood'

Amazon Music has launched new AI-powered weekly playlists that are personalized based on users' "preferences and mood." The playlists include a mix of familiar favorites and new music discoveries, and are created using Amazon's Bedrock generative AI platform. While the company claims this feature brings a "new dimension" to the service, personalized playlists are not a novel concept in the music streaming industry. Similar features, such as Spotify's Daylists, have been available on other platforms. The new Amazon Music playlists can be saved to the user's library or shared with friends, and are currently only available to US listeners, with new playlists released on Mondays.
