Windows 11 is getting a video wallpaper feature

Microsoft is testing a new feature in Windows 11 that allows users to set video files like MP4 or MKV as their desktop wallpaper. This feature, similar to the DreamScene feature in Windows Vista, allows the videos to play continuously on the desktop. Video wallpapers have been a highly requested feature among Windows users, with the third-party app Wallpaper Engine being popular on Steam. Microsoft had been testing dynamic animated wallpapers for Windows 11 as well, but they never made it into the final release. The reintroduction of video wallpapers in Windows 11 is likely to be welcomed by users who have been looking for this functionality in the operating system.
