An hour-long Nintendo Direct is set for September 12

Nintendo has scheduled an hour-long Nintendo Direct presentation for September 12 at 9AM ET. The Direct will include information on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 games. Likely announcements include more details on Pokémon Legends: Z-A and Kirby Air Riders, both of which have 2025 release dates. There's also a possibility of an update on the highly anticipated Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, which is still slated for a 2023 release. Additionally, the event may tease the next big Zelda game, and there could be a Mario-related announcement to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Japanese release of Super Mario Bros. The Direct is expected to provide a mix of first- and third-party news as Nintendo builds out the Switch 2 slate for 2026.
