Ikea’s most Ikea product ever

Ikea’s most Ikea product ever

Ikea is collaborating with Swedish designer Gustaf Westman to launch a new collection, and the first product being unveiled is a dedicated plate for Ikea's iconic meatballs. The 12-piece collection, set to release on September 9th, includes a chunky blue serving dish designed to hold 11 meatballs in a celebratory row. Westman says the plate's simple design, which lines up the meatballs like they're sitting on little thrones, was created to honor the Swedish tradition of meatballs, particularly during Christmas. While the plate was designed with meatballs in mind, Westman notes that it can be used for many other dishes as well. The designer's playful style is said to pair well with Ikea's brand aesthetic, and even the five-step instruction manual for the meatball plate is described as amusing and charming.
