Chelsea Women complete signing of Alyssa Thompson from Angel City for £1.1m fee
Chelsea Women have completed the signing of 20-year-old American winger Alyssa Thompson from Angel City for a fee of around £1.1 million, which could potentially rise to a world-record sum with add-ons. The transfer was finalized on the final day of the Women's Super League transfer window. Thompson has signed a five-year contract with Chelsea after undergoing a medical in London earlier on Thursday, following her flight from Los Angeles on Wednesday night. In a separate move, Grace Clinton and Jess Park have swapped clubs, with Clinton joining Angel City from Chelsea and Park moving in the opposite direction.
