Zelenskiy Asked Trump for 50-Year Ukraine Security Guarantee

In an audio message to reporters, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy stated that he asked former US President Donald Trump for a long-term security guarantee lasting up to 50 years to deter potential Russian aggression. The current proposals under discussion as part of a peace plan suggest a 15-year term with the possibility of an extension, but Zelenskiy expressed his preference for a much longer guarantee, mentioning the possibility of a 30, 40, or 50-year period. Zelenskiy believes that such a historic decision by Trump would provide a stronger deterrent against any future Russian invasion of Ukraine.
