Tanoby Key is a cave in Seavault Canyon on Seven Island. It may seem unsuspecting at first, but solve the puzzle inside and you’ll unlock a rare Pokemon spawn in Tanoby Ruins. This Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen guide teaches you how to solve the Tanoby Key puzzle, including which order to push the boulders in. When you enter Tanoby Key from Sevault Canyon on Seven Island, you’ll be in a small cave with seven boulders that you need to use Strength on to move. There are also seven holes in the cave - can you see where this is going? You need to push the boulders into the holes to solve the puzzle. Use our diagram above to push the boulders into the correct holes: Once you’ve pushed all seven boulders into the holes, the room will shake and you’ll get an message pop up that reads, “A mysterious rumble echoed somewhere far away.” This means you’ve successfully solved the Tanoby Key puzzle! You're all done here, so leave the Tanoby Key cave back onto Sevault Canyon. You’ll need to press on to reach the Tanoby Ruins, where the rare Pokemon species you just spawned will now appear.
