Newcastle agree £55m deal to sign Yoane Wissa from Brentford

Newcastle United have agreed to sign Yoane Wissa from Brentford for a fee of £55 million. The deal ends a long standoff between Wissa and Brentford, as the club had remained firm on their £60 million asking price, despite the striker having only 12 months left on his contract. Wissa's move to Newcastle comes a day after he publicly accused Brentford of "unduly standing in his way" of a transfer to St. James' Park. Newcastle had previously made offers worth around £40 million, which were rejected by Brentford. With this £55 million deal, Wissa joins fellow new signing Nick Woltemade as a striker for Newcastle United.
