Amazon's redesigned Echo Studio speaker has upgraded drivers and a new chip for Alexa

Amazon has unveiled an updated version of its Echo Studio speaker, featuring upgraded drivers, a new chip, and a redesigned shape. The new Echo Studio promises "incredible high fidelity sound" with three full-range drivers and an excursion woofer for enhanced bass performance. It also supports Dolby Atmos content, both for movies and music. The device is powered by a new AZ23 Pro chip, which is designed to enhance Alexa's speech and audio processing capabilities, as well as visual processing for the updated Echo Show lineup. Aesthetically, the new Echo Studio has a more spherical shape and a front-facing Alexa light ring, with controls now located on the front panel. Amazon also announced Alexa Home Theater, which allows users to connect up to five Echo Studio or Echo Dot Max devices for a more immersive audio setup, with Alexa automatically tuning the speakers based on their positioning and the room's acoustic characteristics. The updated Echo Studio is available for pre-order at $220 and will ship on October 29.
