UK couple may have to evict Ukrainian refugees owing to planning rules
A UK couple, Rosemary Duckett, 80, and her husband, Anthony, 88, who were praised by the Prime Minister for housing Ukrainian refugees, may be forced to evict their current guest due to local planning rules. The couple described the situation as "bureaucracy gone mad." Rosemary Duckett, a retired magistrate and former chair of the local YMCA, and her husband have been providing accommodation in a room above their garage to Ukrainian refugees since 2022. However, their local council has informed them that they may have to evict their current guest because of the planning rules, which the couple finds troubling and a bureaucratic issue.
