Cars swept away in Bulgaria floods

In the southeastern region of Bulgaria, severe flooding has claimed the lives of at least three people, including two rescue workers. The floods, triggered by heavy rainfall, have swept away several cars, making rescue efforts challenging. Authorities have reported that the affected areas are facing significant damage, with infrastructure and homes being impacted. The incident occurred in the Haskovo region, where the heavy downpours caused rivers to overflow their banks, leading to the rapid accumulation of floodwaters. Emergency services were dispatched to the scene, but tragically, two rescue workers lost their lives while attempting to save others. The third victim was a civilian caught in the floodwaters. The Bulgarian government has declared a state of emergency in the affected regions, and rescue operations are ongoing to search for any missing individuals. Authorities are also working to restore essential services and provide aid to the local communities impacted by the devastating floods.
