Mike Johnson strips military IVF coverage from defense bill – report

The defense policy bill unveiled by US lawmakers on Sunday does not include a provision that would have provided extensive IVF healthcare coverage for active-duty military members, despite earlier approval by both the House and Senate. The provision was added as an amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) earlier this year. However, House Speaker Mike Johnson, a staunch anti-abortion Republican, worked behind the scenes to remove the provision from the new version of the NDAA, according to a report by MS NOW. This decision comes despite President Trump's pledge to strengthen access to IVF procedures.
