Hollie Doyle ‘devastated’ after popular Trueshan suffers fatal injury at Goodwood
Hollie Doyle, a popular jockey, was "devastated" after her regular mount, Trueshan, suffered a fatal injury during the Goodwood Cup race. Trueshan, a nine-year-old gelding trained by Alan King, had won the race in 2021, which was his and Doyle's first Group One success. The horse sustained a fracture in his left-hind pastern while galloping uphill on the far side of the track, and was immediately attended by the track's veterinary team. The result of the race seemed insignificant after the tragic incident, as Trueshan was one of the most popular horses in training due to his successful partnership with Doyle.
