Netflix's new Stranger Things show creates a blatant plothole in the story's timeline

The animated spinoff of Stranger Things, which takes place between seasons 2 and 3 of the original series, manages to create convincing cartoon versions of the kids from Hawkins. Also, the shorter, more kid-focused episodes give the show a youthful energy which hearkens back to the original show’s earlier seasons.
