Former NFL star Mark Sanchez charged with battery after being stabbed by 69-year-old

In a late-night incident in Indianapolis, former NFL quarterback Mark Sanchez was charged with battery with injury, public intoxication, and unlawful entry of a vehicle. According to the affidavit, Sanchez confronted a 69-year-old truck driver at a hotel loading bay, and the driver claimed to have felt threatened, using pepper spray and then stabbing Sanchez "two or three times" in self-defense. Sanchez allegedly threw the man against a dumpster before fleeing the scene. Detectives have reviewed video footage of the incident, and witnesses reported that both Sanchez and the driver were filming each other with their cellphones during the altercation. The former Jets quarterback, who now works as an NFL analyst for Fox Sports, was hospitalized with stab wounds as a result of the incident.
