West Ham poised to sign Southampton’s Mateus Fernandes in £38m deal
West Ham is set to sign Mateus Fernandes, a 21-year-old midfielder, from Southampton for around £38 million. The deal progressed quickly, and Fernandes has already undergone a medical in London. West Ham has been seeking midfield reinforcements and is also poised to finalize a deal with Monaco for Soungoutou Magassa, who will cost €17 million (£14.7 million) plus €3 million in add-ons. Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest's attempt to hijack the Magassa deal was unsuccessful, and Wolverhampton Wanderers have signed defender Krejci on loan with a £20 million buy clause.
