Hollow Knight Reportedly Shadow-Dropping On Switch 2 Today

Hollow Knight, the acclaimed action-adventure game, is reportedly set to receive a shadow-drop on the Nintendo Switch 2 console today. According to the PEGI certification board, the game has been rated for the new console, with a release date of February 5, 2026. The Switch 2 edition of Hollow Knight is said to feature higher frame rates, improved resolutions, and other graphical upgrades. Additionally, players who already own the original Nintendo Switch version of the game will be able to upgrade to the new edition for free. Alongside the Switch 2 release, Hollow Knight is also receiving updates across all platforms, addressing lingering bugs and adding new features. These changes have been previewed through a public beta on PC platforms. The news comes on the heels of the successful launch of Hollow Knight: Silksong in September last year, which was widely acclaimed and earned a spot among GameSpot's 10 best games of 2025. Furthermore, Team Cherry has announced a free expansion for Hollow Knight, titled "Sea of Sorrow," set to launch later this year.
