Hellraiser: Revival Is Ready To Earn Its M Rating

Hellraiser: Revival is a single-player survival-horror game being developed by Saber Interactive. The game aims to deliver a faithful adaptation of the cult-classic Hellraiser horror series, which is based on Clive Barker's novel. The developers are working closely with Barker to ensure the game captures the essence of the franchise, including its extreme violence, gore, and sexual content. The game is targeting an M rating, which typically includes "realistic depictions of violence, blood and gore, sexual content," as well as frequent profanity. The developers have stated that they will push the boundaries as far as they can, within the limits set by the ratings board. The recent Mortal Kombat games provide a reference point for the level of gore and violence that can be expected in Hellraiser: Revival. Pinhead, the iconic Cenobite character from the Hellraiser films, will be voiced by the original actor, Doug Bradley, though he will not be using his signature scouse accent. Hellraiser: Revival is set to launch for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, but a specific release date has not yet been announced.
