The road to the 2026 World Cup: who has qualified and who is at risk

The 2026 FIFA World Cup will feature 48 teams, with the host nations (Canada, Mexico, and the United States) granted automatic entry. The remaining 43 spots are determined through qualifying competitions from the six confederations, and the final two places will be decided at the March 2023 intercontinental playoffs. So far, 18 countries have secured their spots in the tournament. The draw for the 2026 World Cup is scheduled to take place on December 5th at the Kennedy Center in Washington.
