Acer’s new OLED gaming monitor hits a blistering 720Hz, with a catch

Acer has unveiled two new gaming monitors with impressive specifications. The Predator X27 U is a 27-inch OLED monitor that can reach an astounding 720Hz refresh rate, but with a trade-off of reduced resolution to 1280x720. The monitor still offers impressive features such as USB Type-C support, a fast response time, and high color accuracy. However, this high-end monitor is expected to be priced at $1300 USD or 1200 EUR. For those looking for a more budget-friendly option, Acer is also introducing the Nitro XV273U W1, a 27-inch 1440p IPS-LCD monitor that can reach 275Hz refresh rate. This monitor is priced at $300 USD or 279 EUR, making it a more accessible choice for mid-range desktop setups. The Nitro XV273U W1 lacks some of the advanced features of the Predator X27 U, but it still offers high-quality color coverage and a respectable refresh rate. Both monitors are expected to be available in the first quarter of 2026, with the Predator X27 U launching in China first, followed by the rest of the world in the second quarter.
