Ubisoft may have prematurely revealed FX's TV adaptation of Far Cry

Ubisoft may have accidentally revealed that FX is working on a TV adaptation of the Far Cry video game franchise. According to a reported Ubisoft press release, the series will be an "anthology drama" where each season will feature a new cast and setting, following the franchise's standalone storytelling format. The series is co-created by Rob Mac, known for It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, who created Fargo and Legion for FX. Hawley will serve as the showrunner and executive producer alongside Mac. Several production studios, including Ubisoft Film & Television, are reportedly involved in the project. While FX has not officially confirmed the adaptation, the reported details suggest a potentially successful translation of the Far Cry franchise to television, given the recent success of video game adaptations like Fallout and The Last of Us, as well as Hawley's previous experience in the industry.
