Google is introducing a new voice assistant called "Gemini for Home" that will replace Google Assistant on its smart speakers and displays, including the Nest Audio, Nest Mini, Nest Hub, and Nest Hub Max. The new Gemini-powered assistant will have enhanced capabilities, similar to Amazon's Alexa+, such as understanding complex smart home commands, managing calendars and lists, and engaging in natural back-and-forth discussions. Gemini for Home will be available in both free and paid versions starting in October, though Google has not yet disclosed the pricing for the paid version. This move is part of Google's effort to provide a more advanced AI-powered voice assistant experience for its users.
