Caribbean nations have launched an EU-style deal that allows citizens to work freely across their borders. The agreement, which came into force on Wednesday, involves Barbados, Belize, Dominica, and St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG). This landmark pact is aimed at stemming the outflow of skilled professionals from the region to North America and Europe. The deal is the result of decades of discussions and negotiations among members of the Caribbean Community (Caricom), a regional grouping of 15 countries. Officials hope that this free movement agreement will help strengthen economic and social ties within the Caribbean region.
