Felix Auger-Aliassime stuns No 3 Zverev to return to US Open second week

In a thrilling match at the US Open, Felix Auger-Aliassime, the Canadian 25th seed, defeated world No. 3 Alexander Zverev in four sets, 4-6, 7-6(7), 6-4, 6-4. The match lasted for almost four hours, with Auger-Aliassime delivering some of the best tennis of his career to secure his first grand slam victory over a top-five opponent. The win saw Auger-Aliassime return to the second week of the US Open, having last reached this stage in 2021. Zverev, one of the tournament favorites, suffered an early exit from the US Open, marking his earliest New York departure since 2018.
