Torrie Lewis breaks own 100m national record in bright start to world championships

Torrie Lewis, Australia's fastest woman, has broken her own 100m national record with a time of 11.08s in the opening night of the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo. Despite facing a headwind of 0.8m/s, Lewis finished third in her heat, behind American Sha'Carri Richardson and Jamaican Shericka Jackson, and has advanced to the semi-finals. Meanwhile, Jess Hull won her 1500m heat, and Linden Hall finished fourth in the same event.
