Hyperkin’s DualSense-inspired Xbox controller is finally launching this fall

Hyperkin, a gaming accessories company, has announced the launch of its Competitor gamepad, a wired-only Xbox controller inspired by the design of Sony's DualSense controller for the PlayStation 5. The Competitor will be available in October for $49.99 in North America and in various color options for Europe and Australia. The Competitor features a symmetrical, side-by-side joystick arrangement, anti-drift Hall effect joysticks, impulse triggers, separated D-pad buttons, a pair of back buttons with locks, and a mic mute button. While it takes inspiration from the DualSense, the Competitor lacks the advanced haptic feedback and adaptive triggers found in Sony's controller. The Competitor is a more affordable alternative for Xbox gamers who prefer a wired controller and a design similar to the DualSense. Hyperkin has been teasing the Competitor since 2019, and the final design was revealed at CES 2025.
