UConn top women’s preseason AP top 25 ahead of South Carolina and UCLA
The University of Connecticut (UConn) Huskies have been ranked as the top team in the Associated Press (AP) preseason women's basketball poll. The Huskies received 27 out of 31 first-place votes, indicating their dominance in the sport. South Carolina, the runners-up from last season, were ranked second and received the remaining four first-place votes. UCLA, Texas, and LSU rounded out the top five teams in the preseason rankings. Additionally, the University of Richmond earned its first-ever ranking in the AP Top 25 poll.
