The Game Devs of Color Expo, a 10-year-old conference celebrating developers of color in the games industry, is returning from September 16 to 19 this year. The event will feature a GDoCExpo Direct showcase on September 16, showcasing over 30 new games, accompanied by a Steam sale with discounts and demos. While the Direct is free to watch, tickets to access the developer interviews and live panels are priced at $50, with the organization offering more affordable options for those who can't afford the full price. The conference includes talks on topics like budgeting, design leadership, and "Decolonizing Cozy Games." The Game Devs of Color nonprofit, which organizes the event, also provides $15,000 in development grants to developers at the Expo, having awarded a total of $405,000 since 2019.
