Make Chrome safer against scam sites by flipping on this AI feature

Google's Chrome browser has a new AI-powered feature called Enhanced Safe Browsing that aims to protect users against online threats. Unlike the basic Safe Browsing feature, which compares visited websites against a database of known dangerous sites, Enhanced Safe Browsing uses AI to recognize previously unknown threats. However, Enhanced Safe Browsing is less private than the standard Safe Browsing feature, as it sends the URLs of visited sites, a sample of page content, downloads, extension activity, and system information to Google Safe Browsing to check for potential harm. This data is linked to the user's Google account to enhance protection across Google services. To enable Enhanced Safe Browsing, users need to navigate to the Chrome settings, select "Privacy and security," and then choose "Enhanced protection." While Enhanced Safe Browsing offers more robust security against emerging threats, it comes at the cost of increased data sharing with Google.
