Red Dead Redemption 2 Companion App Has Been Quietly Delisted

Rockstar Games has quietly delisted the Red Dead Redemption 2 companion app from the Google Play and iOS App Stores. The app, which launched alongside the game, provided players with a second-screen experience, allowing them to access the game map, view information like health and ammo, and purchase the official game guide. The app was delisted on August 19, with Rockstar's support site stating that it is no longer available for download, except for those who had previously downloaded it. The game guide, however, will remain accessible through the app for those who had purchased it. Rockstar has not provided an explanation for the app's discontinuation, but it's likely that the company is shifting its focus to the upcoming release of Grand Theft Auto 6, as well as potential ports of Red Dead Redemption 2 for newer consoles. The game is now nearly seven years old, and Rockstar's support for the Red Dead Online live-service title has dwindled over time.
