Bessent also said that oil companies were probably making ârecord profitsâ, and said it was âtime to do something for the American peopleâ. Trump shared these sentiments in a Truth Social post on Monday, writing that if retailers donât drop their prices, âbig problems lie aheadâ. âGasoline Retailers must get their Prices down, IMMEDIATELY! Theyâre too high considering that Oil is now at $68 a Barrel, and heading south.
