Google is making search ads more and less avoidable
Google is making changes to the way sponsored results appear in its search engine. The company is grouping all text ads into a "Sponsored results" section at the top of the search page. This section can have up to four ads, and users can click a button to hide all sponsored results once they scroll past the section. However, there will also be a "Sponsored results" section at the bottom of the page that cannot be hidden. Google claims these changes are to help users navigate the search page more easily, as people have become accustomed to skipping the sponsored results and looking further down the page. The new design is currently being rolled out globally on both mobile and desktop platforms.
