Brooke Norton-Cuffy: ‘Vieira was great as a player and he’s a great manager now’

Brooke Norton-Cuffy, an England Under-21s full-back playing for Genoa in Serie A, credits a card game called Werewolf for helping the team bond and ultimately win the European Championship. The game, which was introduced to the senior England camp during the 2022 World Cup, pits a small informed group (the wolves) against the uninformed majority (the villagers) as they attempt to deceive each other. Norton-Cuffy says the team played the game every night, which helped them get to know each other better and stay connected, even in an age where people are often glued to their phones. He believes this strong team dynamic was evident on the pitch when they went on to win the European title.
