Resident Evil Requiem May Be The "Most Extreme" In The Series, Says Director
Resident Evil Requiem, the latest installment in the Resident Evil franchise, is set to introduce a new protagonist, Grace Ashcroft. According to the director, Kōshi Nakanishi, the game will feature an "incredible rollercoaster" of tension and release, with Grace's transformation from helpless to powerful representing the "most extreme gap" in the series. The game will also include a stalker enemy that players will have a chance to overcome, though the details of this are being kept under wraps for now. Resident Evil Requiem is scheduled to release on February 27, 2026, for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC, as part of Capcom's 30th anniversary celebrations for the Resident Evil franchise. Additionally, a new Resident Evil movie, directed by Zach Cregger, is set to debut in theaters on September 18, 2026.
