Google confirms plans to merge Android and ChromeOS, PCs and phones

Google has announced plans to merge its Android operating system with ChromeOS, creating a unified platform for PCs, smartphones, and other devices. The announcement was made by Google's SVP of Devices and Services, Rick Osterloh, at the Snapdragon Summit 2025. This integration will also bring Google's Gemini AI and assistant capabilities to the PC domain, further enhancing the user experience. The merged operating system will likely power Android-based notebooks, utilizing Qualcomm processors.
