Google Gemini is getting creepier by using your uploads to train AI

Google's Gemini assistant is expanding its capabilities to learn more about users through their shared content and activities. Key points: - Google will rename "Gemini Apps Activity" to "Keep Activity" and use a sample of users' future uploads to improve Google services. This setting is on by default. - Gemini will also remember users' preferences and details to provide more natural and relevant conversations, a feature called "personal context." This will be available in the "2.5 Pro" model initially. - Users can turn off the "personal context" feature or use "Temporary Chats" to have conversations that won't be stored or used to personalize their Gemini experience. - However, Google will still retain users' uploads, including files and photos, to enhance its services, though audio will not be used. Users can turn off or delete this setting. - The changes highlight Google's efforts to gather more user data through Gemini, raising privacy concerns, as the default settings favor data collection over user control.
