DC-style crackdown on crime coming to Memphis, Tennessee, Trump says

The article discusses President Trump's announcement of a task force to address crime in Memphis, Tennessee, a Democratic-led city. According to the article, Trump signed a proclamation establishing this task force, despite opposition from the city's mayor. The task force is intended to mirror the approach taken in Washington, D.C., where the federal government has taken a more active role in combating crime. This move is part of the Trump administration's broader effort to work with local law enforcement to address crime in certain cities. The article suggests that this action is politically motivated, as it targets a city led by Democrats. However, the primary focus is on the president's decision to intervene in Memphis' affairs and the potential implications of this federal involvement in local law enforcement matters.
