Selling Guéhi would have been ‘very, very risky’ for Palace, insists Glasner

Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner has praised the club's chairman, Steve Parish, for deciding not to sell defender Marc Guéhi to Liverpool on transfer deadline day. Palace had agreed a £35 million fee with Liverpool for Guéhi, who had even completed the first part of his medical in anticipation of the move. However, Parish ultimately decided to pull the plug on the deal after failing to find an adequate replacement for the player. Glasner stated that selling Guéhi would have been "very, very risky" for Palace, and he did not have to threaten anybody to convince the chairman to keep the player. The manager credited Parish for his decision, which he believes was the right choice for the club.
