The wrong Bury: footballer takes 200-mile diversion after mixing up towns
In a bizarre mix-up, a non-league footballer, Lewis White, accidentally traveled to the wrong Bury town before playing the final minutes of his team's away match against Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk. The 24-year-old defender from Leicestershire had set out to play for Spalding but instead drove 200 miles north to Bury in Greater Manchester, realizing his mistake only after the long detour. Despite the mix-up, White managed to arrive in time to contribute to Spalding's away victory, with his team's manager describing him as being "in a world of his own" during the incident.
