Survival climbing game Cairn has been delayed until 2026
The survival climbing game Cairn has been delayed until the first quarter of 2026, according to the development studio The Game Bakers. The delay is to allow the team more time for "optimization, debug and polish," as the creative director Emeric Thoa stated that it makes no sense to rush the game after five years of work. Despite the delay, a demo of the game is available, which has already attracted over 600,000 players on both PC and PS5 platforms. The demo will be updated on October 13 with ghost recordings of speedrunners and staff members, allowing players to follow their techniques and discover new routes and hidden areas. Cairn is a challenging rock-climbing game with a free solo mode, where players must pay attention to the avatar's breathing and body language, similar to the peaceful climbing sim Jusant.
