Memphis next US city to see National Guard troops, Trump says

The Trump administration has announced that the National Guard will be deployed to Memphis, Tennessee. This decision comes about a month after the president sent federal troops to Washington, D.C. during recent protests. The White House has not provided specific details on the reasons for the Memphis deployment or the timeline for the troops' presence in the city. However, the move suggests that the federal government is taking a proactive approach to addressing potential civil unrest or public safety concerns in the area. The announcement has raised concerns among some local officials and civil liberties advocates about the use of military force in domestic settings. The situation in Memphis remains fluid, and it remains to be seen how the deployment of the National Guard will unfold and impact the local community.
