Rangers see off wasteful Panathinaikos in Champions League qualifier
Rangers draw 1-1 with Panathinaikos in Athens, winning the Champions League second qualifier 3-1 on aggregate. Panathinaikos were wasteful, with Rangers goalkeeper Jack Butland producing another strong performance to keep the Greek side at bay in the first half. Filip Djuricic opened the scoring for Panathinaikos in the 53rd minute, but substitute Djeidi Gassama equalized soon after with a stunning strike, securing Rangers' progression to the next round. Meanwhile, Shelbourne have been eliminated from the Europa League after losing to Qarabag.
