The United States, Mexico, Costa Rica, and Jamaica have announced a joint bid to host the 2031 Women's World Cup. This will be the first edition of the tournament to feature 48 teams, up from the current 32. The expansion, approved by FIFA, will also increase the number of games from 64 to 104, matching the expanded 2026 men's World Cup. The United States will host the women's World Cup for the third time, having previously done so in 1999 and 2003.
