TCL’s new Dolby Atmos speakers can go anywhere in your living room

TCL has launched the Z100, a Dolby Atmos-enabled wireless speaker that can be placed anywhere in your living room, thanks to Dolby's new FlexConnect technology. The Z100 is designed to work with TCL's QD-Mini LED TV models (QM8K, QM7K, or QM6K series), allowing you to create an immersive Atmos experience without the need for carefully positioned and calibrated speakers. The Z100 speaker is a 170W, 5.62-pound cylindrical unit with four separate drivers that deliver 1.1.1-channel Dolby Atmos audio. The system can scale up as you add more speakers, with the option to use anywhere from one to four Z100 speakers with a single TCL TV. The Z100 also comes with a 130-watt, 9.61-pound subwoofer. Dolby's FlexConnect technology is designed to "intelligently optimize" the sound based on the speaker's position in the room, making it more home decor-friendly. TCL promises "effortless" setup, including a smart calibration process that detects the speaker positions and adjusts the audio accordingly. The TCL Z100 speaker is priced at $399.99, with bundle options available that include a subwoofer. While it may not compete with a high-end 7.2.2 Atmos system, the Z100 could be an affordable and effective solution for those who want an immersive Atmos experience without significant living room modifications.
